Trillium's "small birds" are a collection of pale ales that experiment with various combinations of adjunct grains and hop varieties to create seasonal, sessionable brews. Continuing these experiments in a Double IPA form, Big Bird is a hop-forward creation with a new signature hop that boasts a bold nose filled with lime, ripe papaya, and zesty citrus aromas. These flavors are balanced by pineapple and tangy grapefruit notes, followed by a light body and a dank, resinous finish. With an increased alcohol content of 8.5%, Trillium has truly pumped up the flavor and aroma in this new bird in town.
