Centuries-old wisdom dictates the use of three distinct grains: wheat, oats, and barley. The name "Tripel Karmeliet" pays homage to both its origin and its unique in-bottle refermentation process. This fascinating beer is a result of extensive experimentation with multigrain tripels, and it's clear that the historic blend of these three grains is the secret to its divine taste.
