"TipoRye" is a collaboration between Amager Bryghus and Birrificio Italiano, resulting in a unique and flavorful beer that combines elements of a italo-style Pilsner with a Nordic twist. This Italian Style Rye Pilsner showcases the craftsmanship of Agostino Arioli, the visionary behind Birrificio Italiano, one of Italy's esteemed breweries.
The inspiration for this beer came from Birrificio Italiano's famous creation, Tipo Pils. By taking a German-style Pilsner as the base beer and generously dry-hopping it with delicate German noble hops, Agostino Arioli pioneered the Italian Style Pilsners, which have since been emulated by brewers worldwide. The key to its success lies in the simplicity of the recipe, enhancing the crispness of the European Pilsner style with the subtle floral notes of the noble hops.
For the collaboration, Amager Bryghus added their Nordic touch to the Tipo Pils base. They incorporated 25% rye malt, adding a touch of spice and contributing to a slightly fuller body. The result is TipoRye, a beer that retains the drinkability and approachability of a classic Pilsner while offering a unique flavor profile and a hint of Nordic character.
