Rancio, Frederiksdal's signature wine, reflects the richness of Lolland's earth and climate.
Meaning "rancid" in Spanish, Rancio's production method is steeped in tradition. After fermentation, the wine rests outdoors for a year in small glass demijohns, absorbing the essence of sun, rain, cold, and heat. This process yields distinct notes of orange peel, figs, and nuts. It then matures for an additional year in aged Cognac barrels, adding a touch of caramel to its flavor profile.
