Schönramer Pils is a refreshing and hoppy German-style pilsner that distinguishes itself from its northern counterparts with its pleasant and harmonious bitterness. Brewed with only the finest Bavarian aroma hops, it delivers a pronounced and elegant hop aroma that evokes fresh flowers and pine resin.
Starting off with a lively and sprightly mouthfeel, this pilsner finishes with a dry and fine bitterness that lingers without feeling astringent. In the aftertaste, you can detect notes of rose essence and resin, adding to the complexity of the beer. Thanks to its fine bitter note, Schönramer Pils is a perfect aperitif that whets your appetite.
Pilsner beer originated from Pilsen in the Czech Republic in 1842, when brewmaster Josef Groll introduced a new beer that was lighter in color and taste than traditional dark beers. The original Pils had a deeper color than modern versions, and only in the Czech Republic has the color been preserved. Schönramer Pils, like other regional and national pilsners, has its own distinct character and taste.
