Experience a fuller-bodied wine inspired by the French method, where the wine rests on its lees. 

'Sur Lie' in French means that the wine rests on its lees, or yeast sediment, for an extended period. This technique, commonly associated with Champagne, inherently produces a richer, deeper, and more complex wine.
The Sur Lie matures in French oak barrels, ranging from 225 to 450 liters, and is a blend of 2-3 different vintages. The combination of mature and young vintages adds further complexity – offering both delicate, fresh fruit notes from the younger years and more intricate tones from the older wine.
A truly nuanced wine from Frederiksdal, Sur Lie is the perfect companion to dark chocolate, marinated berries, cakes, and especially desserts like ris a la mande. This wine benefits from decanting an hour before serving and can remain open for a few months in a cool place.
