Amager, a place of timeless enchantment, where tradition and magic have always danced hand in hand. In the heart of northern Amager, there lived a wizard, a master of spells and wonders. But The Wizard, as he was known, grew weary of casting spells for the miserly upper class of Copenhagen who paid him in kind, not gold. His hut was crammed with gifts - flour, molasses, eggs, cinnamon, pepper, and ginger, bestowed upon him for his enchantments.
The breaking point came around Christmas, a season of wonder and surprises. The Wizard, having dreamed of a tropical Caribbean cruise, instead found himself in his hut, surrounded by heaps of seemingly useless ingredients. Frustrated, he unleashed the mightiest curse upon these donated offerings, causing a thunderous explosion that resonated from Crete to Lofoten. For seven days, rain poured across Europe.
This magical maelstrom of flavors and history inspired Amager Bryghus to create "Winter Wizard," an Imperial Peppernut Stout. Brewed with a dash of creativity and a sprinkling of holiday cheer, it's a rich, complex brew featuring a blend of spices, including ginger, cinnamon, pepper, and more. The result is a beer that captures the spirit of Europe's favorite winter cookies and the powerful magic of The Wizard's curse.
